    Biography

    Dawson`s and Zachary`s musical adventure started about couple of years     ago when Zachary was working in Finland sending cars and tyres to Africa,     meanwhile Dawson was travelling around U.S. in a Greyhound bus     collecting experiences around the nation that gave birth to country, folk,     blues and other styles that influence the music of Beacon St. Radiants.

    After his trip to America the beautiful, Dawson spent time in the U.K. to
    be exact in London, where he spent most of his time partying with rock     bands, naturally first seeing them play at some legendary venues. Back
    in Finland Zach was busy playing more or less progressive rock in small     clubs, staying up late before waking up for his day job at a radio station.     

    Dawson was maybe homesick, out of money or just wanted to see old     friends and family, but he decided to come back home to Turku, Finland.     When he arrived he had no place to stay, so he found a home at Zach`s     studio apartment`s couch.

    One morning, while Dawson was playing his acoustic guitar, Zach started
    fooling around, playing slide with a normal butterknife, over the sad chord
    progression Dawson was strumming. The first song for Beacon St. Radiants
    was born. It was later named She said, which can be found in the music
    section of this site. Lost loves, broken hearts and just the fact that
    finnish people are somehow depressed, were the driving forces to start the
    band. They wanted to play music that would touch people, the way     Lemonheads,Wilco, Neil Young,Chris Isaak and the Boss, to name just a     few, had touched them. Although lyrics of the songs are more often than     not, sad and depressed, you can find humour in them. They`re many times
    meant to be naive,but at the same time have that Americana-folk, little
    diner feeling in them.

    After the release of BSTR's Debut EP "First Degree Desperation" Kiskone,     Matti and Tomi joined BSTR for the live gigs. And after a couple of shows
    and Your Heart / Stay sessions Tomi was too busy to continue with     Radiants. Kalle helped us out by filling the empty slot as a new bass player.

    So nowadays "official" Beacon St. Radiants line-up is Zach (vocals, guitar),
    Dawson (guitar), Kiskone (drums), Matti (keyboards) and Kalle (bass).

    New single Your Heart / Stay single was released 7th of September 2006.
